Apologies if this is a double post, but I can't find the my previous post anywhere, far less answers to it.I'm mounting an 18v solar panel (with appropriate regulator, etc.) and am trying to find the best way to do it. I want it out of the way of passengers and crew with no possibility of stepping on it. I also want it removable so it doesn't get stolen. One mounting I've drafted is to use two horizontal surface mount Magna gas barbecue stanchions (stainless rod) that I would bend from their current 45 degrees to 90 degrees. The mounts would go under the stern pulpil and project the solar panel off the stern of the boat.Three questions:1. Will stainless rod bend cleanly with cracking? Can I even straighten the bend to make the 90 degree bend in a different place?2. Any suggestions for bending the 45 degree bend into a clean 90 degree bend without bending the already straight legs of the rod?3. Any suggestions for a better way to mount the panel off the stern - I want it off the stern so that the wire run to the regulator and battery is short? Many thanks in advance.
