Kyocera ! @ e-Marine
Hey Gord, I have a Kyocera 80 watt panel on my X. It's mounted on the sliding hatch. It fits perfectly. Also have a sunsaver 6 solar charge controller, a Concord AGM 8D (400+ amp hours) battery and a CruzPro battery monitor. The whole system puts out about 3.7 amps. It doesn’t seem to take much sun to get it going and it is semi shade protected (if a shadow falls on the panel it still produces power). I’ll probably ad an Air X Marine wind generator next. This system is perfect if you mostly use the boat for weekend outings and let the panel charge the batteries during the week. If you plan on being out for a week at a time you will likely run the batteries down with out daily charging. If you live on the coast or in a windy area I would go with the Air X Marine wind generator. It puts out allot more power than the solar panel. You have to have 6 kts of wind for it to work so if you live in and area that doesn’t have regular wind that exceed that then the solar panel is the way to go My whole system cost me around $1200.00.
