Where is the best place to install a solar exhaust vent on the H26? Any problems with installation? 3" or 4"?

Best places are in the opening hatches!

William: The best place to put these solar vents are in a place that can be easily repaired in the future. If you drill a large hole in the cabin you may be drilling into an area with a wiring chace or something. If you screw up an opening hatch, you can always replace or repair the hatch easily. You can cut the hole with a saber saw, but using a hole saw is MUCH easier and makes a nice clean hole.

Agree with Steve

Yup, That is where my exhaust is and for the same reasons Steve D. mentioned.

Which hatch?

Are you talking about the companionway hatchboards, or the hatch over the v-berth, or the portlights? If it's the portlight, do you replace the existing lens with a fixed piece, or cut the hole in the lens itself?

Forward hatch

Most I’ve seen have been in the forward opening hatch.

Forward of the mast step works fine

My H26 has a solar vent installed about 6 inches forward of the mast step. This works fine, and there were no wires in the way. I would question how watertight the installation on the slanted surface of the forward hatch would be. On my boat, the forward hatch is part of the front wind screen. The installation instructions accompanying the solar vent say to install it on a level surface. Don't be afraid to install a solar vent on the cabin top in front of the mast!
