I sail on Lake Champlain and keep my boat in Plattsburgh,NY. Does anyone have a contact number or web address for a company in the area to strip the bottom paint using soda blasting?
I've searched online but only foun a tri state company in lower NY that does not come as far north as Plattsburgh.

Your local boatyard should know of outfits that do this.

Why are you interested in Soda Blasting? Is this a technique that can just remove layers of bottom paint without damaging the gel coat or a barrier coat?

Soda blasting is an excellent paint removal technique that can remove multiple layers of bottom paint and not damage the underlying laminate. It can leave the gelcoat slightly textured, which is close to the perfect prep for painting or barrier coating the boat afterwards.

After looking at your post, thought maybe I could help. I have a spring appointment with Natural Blast Inc., to have the bottom paint removed from my Carver using their soda blasting system. They are located about 10 miles south of Plattsburgh, NY in the town of Peru. naturalblastny.com 518-643-2360

Roy and Fieldteck, maybe you two can get a deal if you go in together. One-time setup for Natural Blast saves them time and cleanup. Just a thought.

Actually, it doesn't really save Natural Blast much money, since they'd still have to tent each boat separately.
