It's not even winter yet and I think some boaters have had their fill of snow and ice (I know I have). Check out this link and photo of dock damage from the snow and ice on Lake of the Ozarks. There is a lot of dock damage and lots of sunken boats from the icebergs that crashed down from above. Nope, thats not a snow covered reef or breaker-its what used to be a dock!

That is what insurance is for. Consider the environmental damage. How many gallons of oil, gasoline and AF do you think leaked out of these boats not to mention any waste water. Let's see, could it ever possibly snow here? Yes. Okay so lets build a cheap tin roof to shade the boats and leave it up in winter. Anyone who was surprised by this lives under a rock. Tim R.

Where I am at we had only 2 inches of snow and a lot of ice. Power was out for over half a million residences and businesses (including mine). The covered slips at my marina suffered no damage but 20 miles north they did. The link is to a marina just north of me on the Mississippi River (this is where I haul in and out). This storm is nothing like I have seen in my 31 years in the area -- a lot of ICE.
