snatch blocks

What differs a turning block from other blocks? I have ESP Blocks by Harken for my jib sheets(furling). They are fixed to the toe rail aft of the winches. Would I use a snatch block in conjuntion with the ESP Blocks for sheet (fairleads) adjustment? thank youTony

Not as strong?

I always thought that snatch blocks weren't considered strong enough to function long term as turning blocks.And why would you want to do that (use a snatch block permanently as a turning block)? Snatch blocks are expensive, turning blocks are cheap(er).But for a quick re-rig, or as a moveable fairlead, why not?
