Can anybody think of a reason NOT to use Snappy Teak 1 & 2 (very carefully) on teak and holly laminated floor boards?
We've got them stripped but they sure could use the Snappy Teak treatment.
Thanks.

teak and holly laminated floor boards?
Everything on their site refers to solid teak from what I could see. The surface teak veneer on laminated floor boards is usually around 1/32" thick. I'd be worried that either the acid or basic applications of the Snappy Teak would mess with the adhesive under that top layer of veneer. Just a thought but then again, I always tend to err on the side of caution.

We have used the following with good success.
Dawn dish detergent 80%,bleach 10%, tsp 10%..
Scrub with stiff plastic brush and rinse really well.
Made the sole bright again. Follow with the finish of your choice.

Do you have any scrap material left over? If so, test it on that !

Bummer.... do you have a semi-hidden corner that you could do a spot test on?

I guess I'd be afraid of really mucking it up and creating a big job .....

Some boat builders used scrap flooring for drawer bottoms. They put the piece in bottom side up so the holly strips aren't visible.

Also look in lockers and under settees for edges of flooring.

The problem with most 2 part teak cleaners is that they erode the soft wood between the grain. On a thick piece the uneven grain can be solved with sandpaper, on 1/32" veneer, the veneer will go first.

You might try just lightly sanding with 220 or 320 grit paper.
