After removing the dodger and dodger frame for the winter I brought the dodger home for the winter and left it lightly folded on a chair on our covered deck - out of sun and rain but exposed to Mass temps. Some few days later I brought it into the hose to clean vinyl windows and roll it up to store. I later noticed that there was about an inch cut/tear at a point where it was folded. This apparently occured from folding the cold vinyl. Question: is there a way to repair the cut - i.e. "weld" it by coating the edges with a Q-tip soaked in some solvent, and if so which? Or, should I just bring it to our marine canvas company and have a new vinyl "pane" sewn in? The rest of the vinyl seems plyant and in good condition. Appreciate any inputs.

I haven't been able to find a permanent fix, other than replacement, but Gorilla tape will do the job rather well if you want to keep everything together until you're ready to break down and replace the plastic. One of my dock neighbors used a patch kit for an inflatable and it has been holding well. Then only issue is that if it is in your line of sight, it can be annoying. And it doesn't look very appealing where it is. If it wasn't on the front panel or in a corner close to the canvas, it would be less noticable.

I don't know what else is out there. I did check with Jeep and they don't have any kind of repair kits for Jeeps either. They recommend replacement....but it may be a $$ thing with them!

I had a similar problem and ended up buying some transparent awning repair tape at an RV store. The tape is clear, still noticeable, but much cheaper than replacement. Good luck.

You can try "clear duct tape". Cheap fix if it works.

You can probably take the window to a canvas shop and they can replace the vinyl.
