Slot or Slugs on 1987 Hunter Boom?

The main sail for a Hunter 31...the foot that slides onto the boom. Does it have an Internal Track for slugs to slide into or does it have a internal slot where the foot slides into without slugs? It looks like either will fit it but wanted to ask someone out here who has one. Appreciate any responses.

BOOM SLUGS

The boom on my 31'-85 uses plastic slides, the same size as the mast.Theslugs come with a screw,nut and plasticshield which goes through holes in thesail, then the slug foot is internal tothe boom...

Depends on the sail loose footed, but will use either.

The reason for my question is that I purchased a new Doyle main sail and it came with the cord on the foot instead of slugs...but the cord fits in the boom perfectly so I was wondering if it would cause a problem...but the sail is soooooooo nice. Apreciate the responses. It looks like either will do except with the cord I won't have any space between the boom and the sail like I had with the slugs....Larry...
