I am looking to relocate my boat to the Tampa Bay area and having difficulties finding a marina. I am happy to go as far north as New Port Ritchie and south to Sarasota. I've tried Anclote, Tierra Verde, Gulfport, Hudson and St Pete. any suggestions as to where I might look. My boat is 38', 5' draft, 12' beam. I can hook up to 30 amp or 50 amp power.
Thanks,

The Dock master at Gulfport City Marina told me they had slips available. I was also told that there are slips available at Cove Sound Moorings in Cortez Fl. It's just across the ICW from Anna Maria island.
I was in Cortez, small well protected Marina and very clean with great long term sailors there.
Gulfport is larger with more amenities. In slip pump out, fuel, WiFi, and security also well protected.

With a 5 foot draft, I would not look further north than Tarpon Springs. I am in New Port Richey with a 4 foot draft and it can get dicey at times. If push comes to shove and you are really stuck, the marina I am in might have some slips coming up. However you will be really dependent on the tides. PM me if it comes to that.

If there are really slips available at Gulfport Municipal, that would definitely be my choice. It has such great access to the Gulf, with no drawbridges in the way. Their is a fixed bridge (55' as I recall, but you may want to check a chart). I am biased however, as our club is in their basin, so our boat was there for 2 years.

St Pete Municipal has a LONG waiting list.
Cut's Edge in Ellenton/Palmetto. Long way to the Gulf and to any reasonable sailing though.
Harborage in St. Pete is nice
Bay Pines Marina (know nothing about that one)
Maximo in St. Pete
Pasadena Marina in Gulfport/Pasadena (same advantages that Gulfport Municipal has)

That's off the top of my head. Google is you friend here.

Mark told me they had openings just last week. They had a piling break which was off of my bow. We were going to move my boat to the slip just behind where I am, that slip is vacant right now. In fact there are 3 slips vacant on my pier. I like Dennis, however Mark, not so much.

Look inside the Bay, Land's End at Apollo Beach usually has slips available. It is a little pricey but very nice.

I'm still on the hunt for a marina. This is what I've ;earned thus far:
Harborage-short wait list but no one has given 30 day notice
Cut's edge- long wait list
Bay Pines-fixed bridge
Pasadena-6 month to 2 year wait
Cove Sound- probably year wait
Gulfport-no slips and none come open because when people sell their boat the slip goes with it
Twin Dolphin- full for the winter
Maximo-haven't heard back from
Lands End-90 person wait list
missed regatta point, ill try them today

Roland 5048 I appreciate your input. We had started looking at houses on a deep water canal in New Port Richey

Probably the development called Gulf Harbors. The canals are very deep but you just have to time the tides going out and coming back. Especially with a five foot draft. The marked channel leading to open water is considerably shallower than the canals. BTW, that's where I keep my boat but it draws only four feet. Still have to be mindful of any tide lower than half a foot, however. The hotel marina where I keep my boat should have a couple of openings in the next few weeks. Hotel is called the Magnuson. No dock manager so have to call the hotel directly. Very nice people.
Good luck.
