slips in Kemah ,Texas?

I am looking into the insurance and the cost of a slip. Any ideas or suggestions as to the approx cost of keeping a 31 ft sailboat in a slip in Kemah? Any decent, insurance companies anyone can suggest in the area? Will they tax me on my sailboat in Texas? Any hidden costs that I'm not aware of? Just looking for someone who is there in Kemah and can point me in the right direction and give me some good numbers to crunch. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Kemah

Kemah is a really cool place. Lots of slips available betwen alll of the marinas. Price can run from $90/Mo. to 350/Mo. Depending at which marina you are at. I'm at Waterford Harbor Marina. We have swimming pool. hot tub, lighted tennis courts, excercise room and sauna. Also a nice restaurant in the marina. Check it out at waterfordharbormarina.com.If boat has been purchased out of state and registered out of state, you will not have to pay sales tax, just the boat registration fee to get registered in Tx. Kemah is cool

I keep my boat in Marina Del Sol,about a mile from The Board Walk.My boat is 29' and it costs me 170.00 a month plus electric..which typically runs 1.00 a month..except in July/August when I run the a/c then the bill goes thru the roof and runs about 5.00 a month.I get my boat insurance thru Progressive..just Liability and it runs 200.00 a year.Hidden costs??..get Towing Insurance and a Shoal draft boat...Galveston Bay and Clear Lake both run a bit on the shal;low side.Good Luck and shoot me an email if I can help any futher.
