Slips, dockage, or moorings in NY or Philly area

Got a new to me 38' voyage catamaran in NY recently and I'm looking at a long slow sail to Florida. I need to stay above Norfolk until November to keep my insurance people happy. I'm looking for inexpensive but safe marina or someplace to keep my boat in the NY or Philly area for a couple of months then moving south. I'd like to plan to go to the Annapolis boat show in October so that's how I'm trying to time my move south. If I can find something close to the commercial airports it would help my commute since I'm still about nine months out from retirement. Anyone got ideas? I'm all ears at this point because everything I've found so far wants more in fees than my boat is worth. Thanks!

I second Baltimore. It is a boat friendly city unlike Philly or NY. I keep mine at Harbor East Marina. There are a lot of nice marinas there with floating docks and fuel, pumpout, etc. Your costs are going to be high wherever you go as you have a cat and will basically occupy 2 slips.

Ref NYC, dockage expensive, best bet is Lincoln Harbour Marina.
Moorings are avail at 79th st boat basin, but pretty bouncy.

Raritan Bay (Amboys, Keyport) has some good places, easy (rail) access to NYC and Newark Airport.
Other option, look at western LIS, Mamaroneck, Port Washington area. City Island an option but can also be expensive where as Mamarnoneck and PW have some moorings I believe.
