Hello. Well its time for the long weekend trip and sure enough something goes a bit wrong. This one is not so bad... my throttle keeps slipping. The actual chrome throttle shaft does not stay in place. I power up to any rpm above 2500 and the it moves back. How does one tighten the throttle to stay in place? Thanks in advance to everyone. Ed

Common problem

some will recommend a clamp on the cable that controls the sheath pressure, I simply use a bungee chord and slide it up the lever when I need to use it and down again when not.

J-Clamp

Take a look in the archives...I saw a post complete with pics on this that helped me with exact same problem (on a h27 though). Something called a J-clamp that essentially fits over the cables in the engine compartment and introduces enough friction when tightened to stop the annoying slippage. Scott

There is a screw in your binnacle

for this purpose. Check the archives. Remove the compass and tighten the screw. It is an easy fix. The J clamp is not a good idea since it crimps a cable which was not designed to be crimped that way. It will eventually wear at the crimp point and may break completely. Someone who has a cable break at just the time you need it will probably agree.
