One of Abby's posts got me to wondering. What do we pay per year for slips/dry storage? I lease a slip from a friend across the Chesapeake from Annapolis for $850 per year. It went up $100 from last year (stable before that the entire time I've had it). My slip includes water and electric. I have to drag the hose/cord as needed. A nearby marina was askng $2200/year but my boat didn't meet their 40 foot minimum. I guess size does matter. For those of you who slip on the hard, does your fee include the marina launching for you, either with a tow vehicle or a sling? Just curious as to the different costs in the different areas of the country. -John

Sounds like your slip fees are great At Lake Tahoe,Ca. the marina charges $22.00 per foot per month, + $2.25 per day for water control & dredging By the year, paid in advance it's $16.00 per foot, monthly, + the $2.25 per day launching is $30.00 in & out, if you need assistance (like a fork lift) to launch, it's an additional $45.00 slips are metered so you pay for what you use, + $8.00 reading charge. Or if you just come on a 3 day holiday it's $11.00 per foot +,+,+. I do self launch at the state ramp, $8.00

Marina fees

For a 28ft slip with water free and electricity on a meter, I pay $240 per month on Lake Lewisville, TX, a Corp of Engineers lake. Eaple Point Marina is an excellent full service marina with parts store, air conditioned showers, rest rooms, free launch ramp, etc. Voted Marina of the Year in 2006. It's only 10 minutes from home, so it's worth it to me. I can leave home and in 20 minutes be sailing or doing stuff on the boat.
