Conder,
The guys are right about possible weight distribution. This may be a dumb question, but in your forward V-berth lazarette where the forward water tank is, look for standing water possibly leaked from the tank.
I have a terrible venting system with a top cap having a 1/8" hole in it. If you fill your tank from the deck fitting overflow will allow water out through the cap hole. If you have this system, you may have standing water in the bow under the tank.
Most boats are slightly heavier aft, and as in mine, a slight list to port. Add to this a few people and you should not have a list forward. What other weight might you have forward; over time stuff on your boat can be in places to change your center of gravity. I would check for weight displacement.
Covering your rainwater in the cabin, from the design & configuration of the hatch opening, I am always sopping up water after a heavy rain. The cabin top curvature, the slope aft along with the spaces between the opening and slats, I’m sure many older C30’s have this problem. The companionway opening has that vertical angle back which adds to this. I redid the companionway slats and the trim above to lessen this, but I still keep a big sponge onboard.
On the bright side, I find my boat runs happier with weight forward, like people at the bow or standing on the bowsprit.
Let us know if you find the cause pal….
