Sliding Hatch restoration

Hi there, what is the best seal to use on the forward edge of a sliding hatch cover?

I'm not familiar with an S2, but what kind of "seal" is there now?
Seems if you put sealant on a part that is supposed to move, it won't anymore...
So, please enlighten us with a more detailed description.

We have done a couple with “rubber” weather seal for doors from Lowes. It works fine. You will need to use some adhesive. It provides a nice seal and cushion when you close the slider. We also have it on our cockpit settee hatches.

Thank you agprice22. I tried a foam type but was too thick. The original seal there is deteriorated and was missing majority of it.
