can someone tell me if the front hatch cover and sliding top cover on the 1969 venture 21 are made of plywood. mine are and if not where i might be able to find a correct replacement?
I have a 1971, 22' Venture and it has a fiberglass sliding entry as well as a hinged fiberglass top hatch. The entry hatch from any older smaller Venture would probably fit. Keep your eyes open for boats that are being parted-out in the for sale section.Novelman
The 69 V-21 had a two part fiberglass hatch. The top (horizontal) part was held in place by the wooden decorative trim on the cabin top, this also acted as the runners for hatch. The bottom part (vertical) was held in place by wooden decorative trim on both side. They were slightly V'ed and the hatch sat in the V. There were no hinges. The decorative trim had a Rabbet in the side that accepted the hatch cover.
