I talked to my next door neighbor this morning. He is a St. Tammany Parish ( Slidell ) deputy sheriff. Told me he was packed and ready to head NE. The feeling is that we got so much help after Katrina from this area, we owe them. Also, the experience will help. No bitching either. Ready and eager to go help if needed.

Nice to hear. Didn't make it to Katrina (our ERT went and I was SWAT at that time) but did spend a few days in NYC 10 years ago. It is nice to see how Americans come together in times of need. Not just in the US but all over the world.

Hopefully when it's all said and done, we weather this fine up here. Good to know help is waiting and ready! Thank him in advance for all of us.

This example is the America I remember when I was young. This is the America we are in danger of losing today as we disregard our culture, ethics and our connection with fellow Americans. For us to be strong as a nation, we must stregthen our resolve and not succumb to the failed culture of the Third World. Congrats to all who have chosen to help. Best, Ron
