Sleeping on a 326

We are owners of a new 2004, H326. It is in commissioning now and to be launched next month.Our question to 326 owners is what is your choice for the owners' sleeping birth? Rear quarters, (athwortship) or the forward V- birth, and why? Our first thought would be the V-birth because of head room and ventilation. But what do you do with the foward standing locker that would be blocked and in excessable. Also, where do you store the V- birth fill in panel and mattress section so that there is some standing room?Thank you for any comments, Andy and LeeSV "Corey Creek"

Dinette table...best berth on board

I've always found the Dinette to be the best berth. The cushions are more comforatable.

V-berth always seems like sleeping uphill to me.Prefer athwartships, which is fun to say.Better yet, out on benches under the stars.

Everything in life is a compromise

At anchor, a v-berth can be uncomfortable because of the pounding of the bow in any kind of sea. The aft berth has less movement and more peace. In a marina, it's your choice. My wife and I always prefer to use the v-berth. With two adults up front the bow sinks a little and the "up hill" feeling goes away. We keep our insert cushion in place and use the head or other areas for changing. Wherever you chose to berth, you will have to develop you own unique boat berth gymnastics - needed to climb over and/or around your mate.

Rear Quarters

We love our 326 and always sleep in the rear cabin. The 326 has an opening hatch(with screen)in the rear cabin so ventilation has never been a problem for us. We also have AC, if it gets too warm we just turn on the AC. The mattress is approximately the size of a standard queen. We find it quite comfortable. Never even considered sleeping in the V-berth (that's our garage).After seeing the new 33 at the boatshow, believe there is actually more room in the aft cabin in the 326. We are very happy with our 326!

Agree Wholeheartedly

with the Harmers. Our v-berth is our "garage", and while cruising we put our extra provisions, etc. go in there. We find the aft cabin very roomy and ventilation no problem at all. We, too, have AC, so if it does get really warm, it cools off great back there. We love our 320.

Aft Berth

The aft berth is best for a couple. It has decent room, storage space and stand-up space for changing.The v-berth is very small on this boat, and will be difficult for anyone approaching six feet. I consider it a good berth for two kids.The dinette is mediocre, in my opinion. It is really not very easy to rig for sleeping, and the uneven cushions are lumpy.
