SL254 Wind Machine sticking vane and anemometer

My wind vane got stuck first. Worked perfect, then out of the blue was stuck. After a storm it started working again. Seems totally fine now.
But, now the anemometer (spinning cups) seem to get stuck unless it's blowing hard. it will go from 15knts to 0 over and over.

I've been reading about bearings in these wind vanes, but someone told me it's likely just some crap in it. I don't know yet, haven't gone up yet.

Just wondering if anybody knows any specific info on this one?

Not an uncommon problem to all anemometers. The first thing to try is simply removing it for a thorough wash and lube with some non-Teflon lube like Sailkote or it’s equivalent.

I had that problem. I bought a new one and installed. It works great. Then I just lubricated the original one with 3-in-one oil and it works fine.
