I keep my boat on the water for about 6 months per year. Anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent the water in the ballast tank from stinking up the place?

Maybe if you can add some waste treatment chemicals?? I guess you'd have to put them in before you launched. But the water doesn't turn over, so i'd think if you just put a few packets of powder in the tank before launching, you'd be good.

Bromide Tablets
I use bromide tablets in my ponds to keep slime and algae killed. It is available at garden stores. I think it is less caustic than bleach is and may last longer Good luck.
