Picking up a late 60's daysailer Friday and I need 2 pins for the tabernacle. I know I can enter them from Rudy at D&R but want to take it out sailing Sunday and was wondering if anybody can tell me the size of the pins needed both length and diameter. I might be able to find them locally or at least something that will work temporarily.

Also, can anybody tell me what type of original tool was used to raise the mast base to tighten the shrouds or what you use in its' place--thanks much!

The clevis pins for the usual DWYER tabernacle are 1/4" x 2 3/16".
I assume you are asking about how to raise/lower the mast jack when you ask about the tool to raise the mast base? (see pic below) I think they use just a metal rod that fit the holes in the brass (bronze?) disk. Might have used a special wrench that would have a pin that fit the hole and the wrench kind of fit halfway around the disk. I've posted a pic of a small wrench like what I suspect was used to adjust the mast-jack. Not sure you can still use a mast jack with the hinge, since it will not allow you to pin the butt end of the mast in place and so the lower part of the mast will tend to pop off the mast jack as you try to raise/lower the mast using he hinge. The hinge really requires the mast butt to be secured against lifting off the mast step (mast jack replaced the mast step on boats using a mast jack).
