Antenna Location
We have XM on our boat. The antenna was not installed at the factory. Our Hunter dealer was really bad and if there was a wrong way to do anything, that's how it would be done. I checked with Hunter and they said that it did not have to be outside of the boat on the mast, but it could be between the headliner and the deck as long as it was not close to any metal. The signal will be O.K. passing through the fiberglass. As far as the T.V. antenna is concerned, I have two boats with antennas. Seems that this works best on the mast. The one I have now is at the first spreader, the last one was closer to the top of the mast. The reception is probably better the higher it is.
