The Sirius 21 is a great boat, very similar in lines to a Catalina 22. The Main sheet location left alot to be desired. On a heavy wind day, or when a big puff would come, you had to look back reach over the tiller to release main, then reach under the tiller to reset it.

I was tired of losing track of where I was headed, and having to let go and grab again to reset or move around in cockpit just to mess with the main adjustments. Since the 21 is not a huge boat it was easily moved to the boom. Even when letting out to go downwind, the control is simple and can be done with a light grip. When you have big puffs upwind or on a reach you can keep it in your hand for quick release and reset.

Nicely done - and beautiful pictures, I would add!

It sounds like the relocation will make a big difference in terms of your enjoyment.

I'm eyeing a new synchro block for my boat. It's funny how a few key bits can make it much more enjoyable to go sailing. I think I'll replace my jib sheets this winter as well ... They're the last bits of running rigging that I haven't replaced yet.
