I have a use H22, the sink drains to a tube that goes no-place (into bilge). the plumbing diagram indicates that there is some brass fitting it is supposed to go to? I don't see any brass fitting. it looks like there is a through hull drain in the transom (might be aftermarket) that I could run this too. What is the original manufactured way to terminate the drain hose? is it legal in NY State to just let the winkwater drain out into the sea or does it need to go into a holding tank?

Out the bottom

Typically all sailboats drain out the hull, by way of gravity. Inexplicably, the referigerator drains into the bilge. Go figure.

Where to look.

Look under the back storage compartment on the starboard side. Mine has a throughhull in that locker with a cutoff valve. The back drain should be for the cockpit.

pls help again- where is this through-hull?

I am hoping mine is not covered over. help me out. When I crawl under teh starboard locker, where exactly will i find this through hull with the gate valve? is it through the starboard topside? approximately where? can you give me a landmark, i.e., how many feet fore of the transom, how many inches down from the gunwhale?

Even with the sink, under the cussion, below water

If you pull the two cussions off the starboard side there should be 3 lockers. The center one has a liner and the electric panel is in frount of it. The back locker is where mine is and is straight across from the sink and does not have a liner. It is below the water line.

Gray water can legally go directly overboard

Gray water is "galley, bath and shower water" and can legally go directly overboard in all coastal waters and all inland waters except Lake George NY and Lake Winnepesaukee NH. A couple of years ago there was an effort to also ban gray water discharge in a couple of lakes in CA that are municipal reservoirs, but I haven't heard any more about it in a while, so I'm not sure whether it passed...or, if it did, whether it applies to all boats or only to "houseboats."

Found it!

Thanks guys. I found it! It is basically going straight down the bottom of the hull, not even along sides. I seem to have only what appears to me to be about three inches of threaded galvanized pipe with an end cap on it. I am assuming that there was a problem and prior owner capped it off. I certainly can't do anything with this until the boat is out of the water. Thanks also for the information about "Gray water." Thanks. -Jim H. "Happy Days in Hampton Bays" P.S. Had the maiden (well for me anyway) voyage of this boat today.
