i recently bought a 1983 catalina 25 and filled the water supply but i can't seem to get either of the sinks to work.what am i doing wrong? I pump the lever but nothing happens.

sounds like you're pumping the ice box pump, not a sink pump. my c30 has an electric water pump on the control panel. make sure there is power on too, or the electric pump, if installed, will not work. then try the sink.

Perhaps its broken
22 year old sink pump, could be broken. You will be able to tell (by that sucking sound) if the pump has suction. If the lever moves freely without seeming to have any suction, then it is time for a new one. I had a C22 of the same vintage, same problem. Regards, Ted

cheaper, used to use these in campers, van conversions, etc. I've included link to camping world catalog for hand pump but you may find cheaper at local trailer/camper parts store.

Whale flipper pump
You can check out the C25 forum if you want, but since I owned a 1984 C25 for 16 years, I can tell you that you probably have the original Whale flipper pump. They sell at WM for$79 and they also have a service kit for $22. If all your plumbing is intact, then this may be your problem. It does seem strange though that both your sink pumps don't work. The one in the head compartment usually doesn't see that much use. May be you can verify your plumbing first by connecting a temporary pump to the hose leading back to the tank.

86 C30 similar problem
My foot pump work and the little faucet works but the big one in the middle does not. I have taken the hot water heater out and just joined the tubes together to keep water flowing but nothing. My pump is working but just not on this faucet. Any clues?
