Sink Drain back up

The head sink on my recently purchased 1993 Sabre 362 backs up seawater when heeling 25 +/- degrees on starboard tack. We can shut the seacock, but that makes the sink unusable when underway. Is there a way to prevent this backup without shutting the seacock everytime we sail?

Close seacock is only solution

When heeled at 25+ degrees, anyone standing at the sink would be too busy hanging onto a grab rail to wash dishes anyway.

And btw...keep your head intake seacock closed when underway too...'cuz a vented loop only breaks a siphon started by water being PULLED through a line...it can't prevent an effect known as "ram water" (water being pUSHED--rammed--up an open thru-hull by the pressure of the water against the hull as the boat moves through it) from flooding the bowl.

Short term, I use a sink stopper. works well enough that I use it for longer trips too. Peggie is (naturally) right about the ram effect. One of my crew was washing her hands in the forward head when we fell off a wave. She got a stream of salt water right in her face!

We close all of our seacocks when sailing. Some day a hose is going to break and I'd prefer that it not happen when I am healed over at 25 degrees and don't notice it. We also close all of our seacocks when we are off of the boat, so I guess I am anal about this sort of thing.

It may have something to do with the fact that a past commodore in our yacht club had his boat sink when he left his raw water intake open at the dock. Reason: Broken hose. He was only off of the boat for about 30 minutes and when he came back, much of it was under water. And to prove that Murphy is alive and well, his hoses had been changed recently.

Thanks

All good advice, I was just hoping to avoid the extra chore of opening and closing the seacocks. BTW, the kids seem to have no problem using the sink or head at 25-30 degree heel!
