I saw a note from Ken Shubert where his favorite place to sail when single handling is in the companionway and was hoping he could relay his setup. My tiller extension is to loose for full extension under heavy winds. The tiller tamer seems to require adjusting frequently and just dosen't allow for a moments rest. Would like to hear from you. Are you still using the pinch cleats for the jib sheet or have you modified that as well?

ST1000+ and Spinlocks (the good life)

The tiller tamer didn't tame the tiller! The Autohelm does. And the good news is that Autohelm and Navico have both come down in price the last couple of years. The jam cleats should have been replaced years ago and the Spinlock rope clutches are great. You have positive control of the lines and never have the bitter end flying away. The ST1000 also lets me remove and stow the hanked-on jib, flake the mainsail and cover it on the way into the slip. Really a handy setup. Just call 1-800-MYSANTA. HO HO HO
