I put up a page on the single line reefing we added to the boat before going to Florida. It is here...

At this point we are real happy with it. It is fast, safer than what we were doing and seems to work very well.

Right now I still reef at the mast where I can control the reef line and the main halyard. In the future as I get older I might run it back to the cockpit, which wouldn't be hard.

Also here is a link ...

...to the lazy-jack system also..

Nice job on the sail cover Ruth. Nice job Sum.
I put EZ Jacks on my 26D and it really made a difference dropping the sail. I run them loose on the water so as to not mess up the sail shape and then tighten them up just before dropping the sails. Trying to see around a pile of main flopping around as you head to the dock is a real pain.
I have been working on my "heave to" moves to stall the boat out before reefing the main with hanging ties. It's not always as easy as it looks.
My PVC Furler is working great so now I have good control from the cockpit and can fly the big genoa all the time.
I can't wait for HPCC and sailing with 130 plus sailboats and crews.
I always enjoy reading your posts.
