The boom on my 2001 380 "sings". I have placed a sponge in the end of the boom and that has not helped. Can anyone give me information on what i need to do to stop this noise?

I had a similar issue--drove me nuts! It turned out to be the topping lift was so tight that it vibrated like a piano wire. Try loosening the tension a little.

If you have in mast reefing, try taping the outhaul when the noise annoys. I find, because of its tension and proximity to the boom when everything is snugged down, it "hums" like a reed instrument. John
