Simple Winter Cover Frame

I have made a simple inexpensive PVC based frame that mounts simply on the stanchions, and supports a plastic tarp allowing snow to slide off and prevents rain from pooling on the cover, it took about an hour to fabricate and mount.The vertical tubes are unglued and allow for easy disassembly and summer storage.Photos and description are posted in the Photo Forum, it can be applied to most sailboats.

Tarp

Nice job. Now if you were to cover the frame with a white tarp you will be able to work under it for the whole winter. It would be bright and inviting it the cold months.

braces

I would suggest bracing your stanchions. We have a custom cover and last year the wind blowing on the cover worked loose and eventually broke off one of the stanchions. This year braced the stanchions with 2X4's.
