silly ice box drawer

Hello folks, Any other O'Day 37 owners have such a silly ice box sliding drawer? I really think that something better could be designed. The one on my 1979 doesnt slide very far, has a deep side that you cant even get ones hand into and seems to be more in the way than its worth! I think mine is going to be cut out this winter and something new put in. Any ideas?????? <sigh> hauling out next week, cabin fever here i come! howie~

What drawer?

No drawers in our ice box (1982 model). What we do have is two ice boxes, a large one to starboard which is actually a refrigerator and a small one to port, which is an insulated box. We store dry goods in the port box. Hauling so soon? I feel for you. We will be sailing into early November and will wet store this year.

What drawer 2

No drawer in my icebox either (1978) It's probably a modification from the previous owner. Just take it out if you don't like it. Have fun.

guess i should call it a tray

Well to be more precise its a Tray that slides back and forth, really dont think it was added by a previous owner but i do know its coming out! Boats getting hauled tomorrow <sigh> But i'm looking forward to all the work i plan on doing to her. howie
