When you shut down a YANMAR diesel, you're supposed to hit the stop button. But many sailors and charter companies also say to push the stop buttin and wait for the low oil pressure alarm to sound. Gordon, does it really matter about that waiting for the alarm???

Better know it's working

Good idea to wait to hear the alarm before and after running your engine, if the alarm does not sound with the key "ON" before the engine starts or if it fails to sound after stopping the engine, do not run your engine until the alarm is fixed, or it could cost you your engine.
