Our 321 Oceanis (2000 model) has about 80 hours on the engine. Right after we start it, there is a slight shudder coming somewhere in the drivetrain. Lasts a fraction of a second and is not heard when motoring.Any suggestions?
You did not mention which engine you have, but my guess is that you have the beginnings of a motor mount problem. This is common on the Perkins and Volvo engines. Not normally a problem with the Yanmar.Jon
It is a Yanmar. I will check the engine mounts since I did align the engine this Spring since was not well lined up with the output shaft. I didn't think it was this since the sound went away after the engine started. Thanks!
cymeyer; I think your idle speed might be slightly low. I had a vibration/shifting problem in my Perkins but when I increased Idle speed about 100 RPM, it went away.
