I cannot figure out how to access the shower sump on my Oday 302. It appears that there is no non-destructive way of reaching it. Anyone else have to repair a non-functioning shower sump on this model?

Sump

I also have a 302 and although I've never had a problem with the shower sump (probably because I never use it) it would be nice to know what to do if I have a problem. I do pump antifreeze through it each season to keep it working. I'm sure your not the first owner that's had this happen. How do you like the boat in general?

The 322 version

I don't know if our situations are the same, but given the similarities between the 302 and 322, here's what I've found on my boat (with a balky shower sump). Not wanting to destroy the seamless floor in the head, I tried tracing the hose line from the sump under the floor to wherever it dumps overboard. I think I spotted the culprit -- an as-yet-unidentified pump attached to a bulkhead in the portside lazarette. I'm going to get a second opinion from a knowledgeable friend, but I think it's a remotely-located shower sump pump. I guess one other way of diagnosing it will be when I reinstall the batteries. I'll hit the sump switch and see if the mystery pump kicks in. I'll let you know what I find. Good luck to us both. Pete s/v EmmieLou (O-322) Little Silver, NJ
