Our 2005 Hunter 38's shower sump didn't go on this weekend. We have never showered in the stall but thought it would be a good idea to give the area a rinse. The valve going out is open and when I flipped the switch nothing. didn't have my volt meter on the boat, mistake, but I'm guessing no power to the pump. Am I missing anything? Another switch etc??
We now have water floating in the pan and need to vacumn it out or fix it shortly.
thanks
Bob

May be obvious, (was not to me) but mine is wired from Hunter so that he pump will not run unless the pressure water switch is turned on..

I once had a problem with mine where the hose betweeen the shower pan and sump box got bumped up higher raiising it to a levell that stopped the drain flow to the sump box. I knocked it back down to drain the shower and later shortened it a little so it could no longer arch upwards.

Pump

Sounds like a power problem so check the power and connections and if your 38 is like my 36 you could disconnect hose from pump where it goes into from shower and let water drain into bilge until you get it fixed.

My aft shower pump wasn't working (we don't use the aft shower and only the frig drain normally goes to it) and when I took it apart the float was all slimed up. In the end I had to replace the float.

I just replaced the original sump pump on my '98 H376. Pump just died. Ordered a replacement online, works great.

If you can't hear it when you close the switch or turn the pump on, then probally pump is bad, if you can here it turn and the water is still not pumping out then, as we do, have in-line check valve, and it may be sticking, which 2 of ours did.. Worth a check

We seldom use our shower. After 6 months on the hard I gave it a rinse and the pump did not run. I opened the sump box and removed the motor with twist, I gave the impeller a turn or two, was stiff at first then turned fine. I put it back together and it ran fine for the next 6 months. I made sure the sump was dry when we left the boat next time, will see how it does this fall.

Shower sump-another possibility

Same thing happened to us, and it was a clogged filter. We washed it off, popped it back in and it worked. Funny thing for us I would have sworn it was electrical.
