Shower leak

I have a 2014 Oceanis 45 and we are having a persistent leak in the forward shower. The water gets between the aft wall and the removable panel and drains into the hull and then to the bilge. Unfortunately I'm afraid the standing water will grow stuff. The dealer has sealed it once with caulk but it still leaks. He is going to try again but I thought someone else may have dealt with this problem and have a goo suggestion.

Surprised you haven't received any replies yet. This is not necessarily a "boat specific" question, since it appears your shower faucet is leaking or it is the hose connection to it. You'll have to get access to find out, since you're right that the caulk and walk away method ain't cuttin' the mustard. Good luck.

It is definitely drain water. I can squeeze in behind the sink and see the water running out of the crack between the panel and the floor of the shower. The fresh water plumbing is all intact.

Ah, then I can see your concern with growing stuff. I don't know the exact layout of the 45 but if it's anything like our 331 you've got a drain in an all-one-piece wall/floor unit--or at least a molded floor pan. Not much access there on ours. Have you inspected the joint between the floor pan and the drain pipe at all. Also, is some of the drain water going out the thru hull?

Thanks for the input. The water appears to all drain to the bilge except that left standing next to the area under the sink. The boat is still under warranty so I am leaving it to the dealer even though his first attempt failed. I thought I might get some ideas to pass along. You are right though; there's not much room to work.

Wow, it all drains to the bilge? I certainly don't think that was the design, as it was on some older sailboats. If it's *all* going to the bilge, it sounds like more than a leak--more like a plumbing fitting is missing.

I have the exact same issue with my Oceanis 45 (Hull #11). My dealer has been very good about tying to repair it, but thus far no luck. If you press the pump button, the grey water from the shower is pumped out through the hull, but otherwise it is collecting under the shower pan and draining into the bilge. This has become a high priority for me, since I live on my boat in the summer months. When it's fixed, I'll post the resolution.

The dealer caulked the removable panel and the drain. It slowed the leak considerably but water still accumulates under the sink but in smaller amounts. We are just living with it for now. Le me know of any other solutions. Thanks.
