Hard to tell from the picture, but my guess is that there’s not room between the pan and the hull at the low point.

Could be a mistake. My 1980 H33 fuel tank was installed backwards at the factory. There was a float gauge mounted on top of the tank that instead of being directly in front of an access hatch in the quarter birth for viewing was on the opposite corner and invisible. A 180 degree rotation of the tank would have solved that problem.

It was made on a Monday or Friday?

I’d like to replace mine, have you?

It very may well have been, I worked for Bangor Punta Marin in Costa Mesa California and we would slap those Cal Jensen’s together pretty quick

That is along the lines of what my father once explained his saying, No one wants to be there on Monday and everyone wants to go home on Friday.

Ah, back to the shower drain by the head. Let’s face it the 1991 Hunter 28 was not very well designed for taking a shower unless you want to flood your soul and ruin your lower interior wood work. Thinking of installing a little pump that will push water up to the drain by the head or figure out a gravity way to the bilge. Any thoughts, suggestions?
Thanks,

I hope it isn’t bad enough to flood your soul! Maybe get the sole wet, but not your soul:cool:

Sorry, could not resist.

Not familiar with a H28, but if you have room under the shower pan for a bilge box, you can put a bilge pump in there and then route it overboard.

On my 1988 O’Day 322 There is no room under the pan. I have an elbow directly under the drain, and I have a diaphragm pump under my sink cabinet. The diaphragm pump will pull the water from the hose under the drain ( doesn’t need to be primed), and push it overboard. The pump has an on/off switch in the head, easy to turn on and off when showering. Generally i would run the pump while the shower is on. The pump can also run dry and it won’t hurt it.

How about having the crew stand on the bow, while someone is in the shower?;)

Well that’s dumb and it looks like there’s a recess for it too; not just a guy with a drill having a bad day.
If there is enough clearance under the low end of pan, relocate the drain, fill the original hole and maybe put a nice teak or starboard shower grate over it all. Best to plumb the drain to a shower sump box with a pump. You don’t want your shower draining directly into the bilge.

Yes, there is a recess and a pvc 90 degree elbow you can almost see connected to a hose which of course goes directly to the bilge. No clearance under low end! But I like the teak grate idea! I would have to fabricate a higher lip for existing shower pan…
