Our 2006 Beneteau 323's shower drain developed a leak, as attested by discoloration at the bottom of the exterior teak molding on either side of the head door. In order to repair this, I did the following:
1. Detached the shower drain hose from the pump attachment under the sink, so that there would be some slack in the hose.
2. Removed the screws. Discovered that they were loose. Beneath the shower drain fitting, there was delaminated fiberglass. The old caulk had totally deteriorated.
3. Pulled the shower drain fixture out and cleaned the mounting surfaces. Checked tightness of hose clamps.
4. Rebedded drain fixture with West Marine polyether sealant (white). I chose this over 5200 in case the repair needed to be done again!
5. Rotated the drain fixture so that I could drill new mounting holes in good fiberglass.
6. Drilled mounting holes with a 7/64" bit, and secured drain fitting with the supplied mounting screws.
7. Added an additional layer of caulk.
8. Resecured shower drain hose clamps under sink.
