I really love seeing colorful and unusual spinnakers. Spinnakers seem to say alot about their owners. Some are merely pretty.

I've seen spinnaker pictures posted here that seem to tell a story, even if the story isn't obvious. I'd love for everyone to post pictures of their spinnakers and tell us why you chose it.

I like to think ours is pretty and says that my First Mate and I love our state of South Carolina. Plus it goes right along with the name of our boat, "Palmetto Moon."

Thanks!

Because solid red goes great with Flag Blue. Our reaching kite.

Here is ours, on one of the few times we flew it.
I think, for us, it was a waste of $$, We fly our drifter and Mainster and get more speed with a LOT less trouble. But that is just us.

I can't say mine was a good investment, either. But I wanted the challenge (mission accomplished) and I wanted the design. We rarely fly ours. It certainly is a lot of work but dang it's fun!

Here's my own make asymm. spinny.
The eagle is made via cut insert panels, the details (head and tail) are appliqué. The eagle is over ~24 ft across tip to tip. Spinn is 1750 sq. ft. @ 170%

I was hoping you would post yours, Rich. An eagle flying over my house years ago sparked my intense interest in birds of prey. Way cool spinnaker. Thanks for sharing!

Mine came with the boat.

We've flown it a couple of times once I got a sock for it. Usually, it's just the two of us and the Admiral hates to see me up on the bow alone so we don't fly it often. But this shot is 30 miles off the Alabama Coast heading for Mobile Bay. Wheeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

Our boat has green striping so a green chute works well.

Ours came with the boat. Brand new never used. I had to rig the boat to fly it. Masthead bail, block, halyard. We don't use it often but it's a great sail every time we do. Great idea for a thread, Kermit!
