I'm pulling my 1975 10M out of the water for a winter of hard labor! I'm replacing the thru-hulls and seacocks, doing a bottom job, and repacking the propellor gland (or replacing it with the non-drip type). There are no signs of rudder play or leakage where the rudder shaft passes through the hull. Should I mess with it, since I hopefully won't have the boat out of the water for a couple years after this. If I do, is it the same type of packing material as for the prop shaft? And can I switch the rudder one to teflon to reduce maintenance and the possibility of leaks?Any help is very much appreciated.Craig
