I WENT TO SEE A HUNTER 40 TWICE TODAY. I WENT BACK TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AND FOUND A COUPLE OF CRACKS AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE HEAD NEAR THE CEILING. THERE WAS ALSO A CRACK INSIDE THE HEAD NEAR THE SAME SPOT. THIS WILL BE MY FIRST BOAT AND I'M NOT SURE IF I SHOULD EVEN CONSIDER A 1994 HUNTER IN THIS CONDITION. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS COSMEDIC BUT WHO TRUST A USED BOAT DEALER. THANKS ROB

40.5

i've owned a 1995 40.5 for nearly a year...is my 5th boat...the 40.5 is genuinely a great boat...performs well, roomy, good quality...your question sounds like minor cracks in the inner liner...but you should rely on the opinion of an independent surveyor hired by you...it is very important to have the boat surveyed, since the care or abuse of sailboats can vary dramatically....good luck to you...if this 40.5 is not your boat, keep looking for another one...there are several on the market in fl....bob

Great boat

The 40.5 is a fantastic boat. Frankly, I think it is the nicest Hunter ever made, as I do not like their newer lines. It sails well, is very comfortable, and is well constructed. Please feel free to email me with any further questions. aboas@cabletest.com
