Should a vented loop be installed to stop head odor?

I bought a Sabre 34 two years ago and have been having problems with strong odors after flushing the head and some back filling of waste. I rebuilt the Wilcox-Crittendon Headmate this winter but the problem is still there. There is no vented loop between the toilet and the holding tank, although there is one in the system when the Y valve is switched to allow the tank to be dumped or the toilet to be flushed directly overboard at sea. Would installing an additional vented loop between the toilet and the holding tank solve my problem?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

No...That won't help.

You'll find a lot of possible causes and cures if you'll read all the recent threads to this forum. Just scroll through all the headers--not only the first page!--looking for topics that seem to be about the same problem. That SHOULD help you identify what's causing your problems...and then we can figure out exactly how to solve 'em all.
