Shortwave Radio..

Hi all,
I just purchased a little Tecsun PL-660 radio.
It has a syncronous detector!

Anyway, supposedly, I can get weather plots using the shortwave SSB feature.

Can anyone lead me to what type of cable I must purchase and your favorite software package for this?

The radio has an audio output. I think thats what I connect my laptop to, right?

Plug the output of the radio into the soundcard of your laptop or PC.
Line-in is usually best, but Mic will work too.
It's a standard audio jack, nothing fancy and only a few cents/pence or you
can make one yourself.

I use fldigi 'cos it's free; does WEFAX, NAVTEX and a pile of other stuff;
works on Windows, Linux and others; and the source code's available if your
computer's a bit different and you want to compile it for yourself (e.g. I
did that for a raspberry pi )Alisdair
