Shortening the bimini to mount on pulpit?

Anybody ever shorten the bimini tubes on a 95 Hunter 26 so that they could mount on the stern pulpit instead of the side decks and be out of the way of the stern rail seats? It's a real literal pain in the butt to have the bimini resting in the seat when you're sitting there. I'd like to modify it to resemble the later model bimini mounting, including adding a support strut on each side the way the 260s have it. Do you think I can get the mounting hardware to make this change? Many thanks.

Bimini Problem

Had the same problem on our H26. We added two support arms that attach perpendicular to the deck on each side of the edge rail. The further forward you move the arm on the deck rail the higher the bimini sits when folded. Had them made out of stainless with pull pins. Glad I did it made it easier to take it off.
