Has anyone installed shore power on this model? Where did you install the outlets and breaker box. What kind of service box was used for the breakers? Should I worry about stray current even though we use an outboard? Help !!! "Festivity" 1996 H26

on the starbord side

ok on the starbord side. at the counter level I moved to the right like 3 inches more or less is where the plug comes in. then you route the cable in to the counter and the breaker is right there on the side in front of you. Sitting in the bed looking toward the front . just dont put it too low or when you are sleeping you will trip the breaker. also this is a good area for music radio and air condition breaker. Also a receptacle can be also put here. CHuck

shore power

You can put the outside receipticle either on the outside on starboard or in the port cokcpit locker as the line will go out through the handle when the lid is down. If in the cockpit locker, you will need to punch downward through the foam to run the wire. Be sure to use marine grade 12-3 and not household wire. Blue Seas has a nice unit that I usually like to put on the wall of the galley that is facing toward the rear berth. Make sure to use a cover plate for the back of the panel to avoid electrical shcok. Also use GFI on the circuit. Crazy Dave

What I did was

install a "battery charger inlet" in the area next to where the engine control/alternater cables go through the transom, into the stern area behind the bulkhead doors. I then wired that up and ran the wire (12/3) all the way through the galley to just in front of the sink cabinet in the starboard settee above the sole by a few inches (~5-6") and wired it to a GFI that has a little green LED that is lit when you have power connected. This way, when I'm on the hard, I can plug a regular extension cord into the charger inlet. For actual shore power use I have one of those shorepower pigtails that converts the boat end of the cord back to a regular extension cord type female plug. FWIW MVVM Tom M.
