First off, as a proud owner of Hull #50 of your H33 Design, let me say thank you for the over 4 years of enjoyment we've received from her. We held off our purchase decision 3 months just to get a look at, and it has totally been worth it. We've enjoyed sailing her on Lake Michigan, and most recently in our home waters of the Florida Panhandle.

Which leads to my question. Have you ever discussed/designed either a shoal draft boat for Hunter or discussed possibly a Catamaran model in the 33-38 foot range? We love the amenities, the Arch, everything about our 33 and what Hunter has to offer, but, if it drew 12 to 18" less, we could keep in behind our house and be able to explore a lot more of the area. I've always wondered if he was ever discussed at Hunter, and this forum offered a opportunity to finally get the question out there.

Thanks,

Jason

Jason,

I am glad you are enjoying the 33. I love that boat. We have discussed producing cats or trimarans. The challenges to overcome are adjusting the factory to accomodate beam, gearing the dealers toward a new product and shipping to all the regions. It is almost necessary to start a new factory so not to impede construction of existing models. I am working on a 40' cat that can be unbolted so to speak and shipped very easily on a flat rack on deck of a container ship. This would be built by a semi-custom builder.
