Let the Truck Go
I do strongly suggest that you let this trucker go. If he has never hauled a boat such as yours, you will only be his learning curve (mistake). I am a retired Heavy Machinery Hauler with over 30 years experience hauling most anything you can get on a truck of any size. But boats are different. If you don't set them just right, block them correctly, strap in the proper place, and by all means cover any glass with strong tape and cover the hull so you do not end up with road rash (rocks, glass, pcs of whatever)and exhaust smoke. I might suggest going on www.yachtworld.com and clicking on Transport My Boat. Get a company who has experienced drivers, with proper equipment and above all the Cargo Insurance to haul your boat. May be slightly more than you want to spend, but you will be able to sleep at nights. You don't want to think of the alternative.Anything loaded on a trailer that is over 13 feet 6 inches high is considered OVER HEIGTH in most states, and anything over 9 feet wide will need a permit to haul it.
