2001 Hunter 420 Passage: Our starboard midship water tank has shifted causing the section of flooring above it to be raised at least 3/4 of an inch.
If anyone has had this problem and has a solution, we would be very grateful if you would share it. My thanks, Jeff

Don't know the 420 but on the 40.5 the midship tanks are integral to the backbone webbing of the hull. ie they are not movable. The "lid" is however attached by about 1000 screws.
could it be that the flooring has just "swelled up"???? I know when my tanks leaked (midship lid seal) and when I had the senior maintenance man screw up and had a constant drip from the loose plumbing to the water pump the floor got soft and swelled.

In our 2000 420, the mid ship water tanks are held in place with expandable foam. From what you describe I would just dig out the old foam and reposition the tank and refoam. Just be sure you don't put to much foam in and collaspe the tank.
