My shift cable broke come back to port this afternoon. I disconnected the cable from the transmission and had crew manually shift as I slowly made it back to port. Does anyone know where to get a new cable? does anyone know how to install the cable through an Edson pedestal. The cable I pulled the cable out of its sheeve. Can I get a new cable or do I need a new cable and sheeve?

Call Hunter

Call Hunter and they can tell you the length of the cable. Replace with a Teleflex cable of the right length. I used their "premium" cable which has a teflon coating to move easier. Depending on how the cable enters the bottom of the pedestal, you might can just take the top off the pedestal and work from there. I had to lay my pedestal down to feed the cable.

Hi Rob, plan on dropping the pedestal...

no big deal. There is a slide fit sleeve at the base of the pedestal that is designed to keep the cables away from the steering system. Just loosen the steering cables at the quadrant. Terry
